I'm afraid I don't know enough about photography to give very useful feedback, I feel like your photos are all so much better than anything I get on my camera!
I was wondering, though, have you played around at all with free photo editing programs like GIMP and Picnik? I've played around a tiny bit with GIMP (not enough to be helpful, but it seems like cool software), and I've seen cool Picnik effects on other blogs.
I have played with Picnik a little. Once I found Photoshop, there was no return for me! I'm really trying to figure out just clean post-processing. Someday I'll be able to do cool stuff. I haven't even touched my camera in over a month! SO SAD.
